Using this site

This site is for people who live and work in, or are visiting, the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington.

Getting around in a busy city isn’t always easy – particularly for older people, people with a disability, and parents with young children. That’s why we have developed this site.

Find my nearest enables you to look up amenities, such as doctors, banks and Post Offices, on easy to use interactive maps, and also enables you to locate essential facilities, such as parking and toilets. You can save multiple destinations and print your own maps. More about using Find my nearest.

Journey planning links you to websites and tools to help you get around by bus, tube, train and plane. We’ll be developing this area in future to enable you to do route planning from doorstep to destination in Camden and Islington.

Travel support gives you information about schemes to make travel easier for older people, people with disabilities, school children and hospital outpatients.

The Links section signposts you to a wider range of information and support covering things like benefits, health, access to disabled toilets and much more.

The What’s on events diary will inspire you to get out and about even more. You’ll be amazed at how much there is to do in Camden and Islington and Myjourney.org.uk will help you to find your way there – and back!

Using Find my nearest

Using the map

  • Start by typing a postcode or street in the box on the left and click Go.
  • If you’ve entered a street and there is more than one street with this name, the system will ask you to choose the street you want.
  • Your street or postcode map will display.
  • Zoom in or out using the + – tool on the left edge of the map.
  • To move the map, click anywhere on the map and drag with your mouse.

Choosing a mode of transport

  • In the right-hand column, you will see five grey icons representing modes of transport; walking, driving, cycling, wheelchair, and public transport. The sixth grey icon (All) shows all modes of transport.
  • Click one of the grey icons to choose the mode that suits you best. If you click on public transport for example, toilets, bus stops and tube stations will display on the map.
